with Alaine Duncan, L.Ac., Somatic Experiencing Practitioner
2.5  PDA Points/CEUs, NCCAOM, CA, FL AND TX
    Cost: $40

The program explores the ethical principles that are important to consider when working with trauma survivors. It presents a foundation for understanding the:

from the perspective of neuro-biology and Five-Element Chinese medicine.

This foundation serves as a departure point for exploring the critical choices a practitioner must make in order to provide ethical treatment for trauma survivors. With this awareness, practitioners can make situationally appropriate choices with respect to: patient consent, respecting rights and dignity, clinical transparency, cultural competency, non-discrimination, patient privacy, appropriate boundaries, scope of practice and other areas.

12 Points for Restoration & Balance Approach to Trauma Treatment
With Alaine Duncan, L.Ac., Somatic Experiencing Practitioner
2  PDA Points/CEUs, NCCAOM, CA, FL AND TX
Cost: $40

This program teaches acupuncturists a 12-point auricular approach to trauma treatment, and then provides step-by-step instructions, with demonstration, for executing this approach. Conceptually, it explains the neurobiology and physiology of traumatic stress response, as it relates to the five element system of Chinese medicine.

It also explains how each person’s response to traumatic stress is different, depending on their constitution, history, and state at the time of the traumatic experience. It shows how Post Traumatic Stress is not the same for each person and is, in fact, not a disorder but an appropriate response to life threat. If offers a simple, effective way to customize trauma treatment for each person to provide maximum benefit.
