NatDisSS01Extreme drought has helped make this fire season the worst in recent California history. 10,000 – 20,000 people have been displaced by multiple fires in hardest-hit Lake County, destroying the community of Middletown on September 12th, and forcing 1,000 people to go to nearby Napa County Fairgrounds for emergency shelter. Affected populations include many farmers, farm workers, veterans, and people with limited economic resources. Almost 1400 family homes have been lost.
